Welcome to Pushcakes Totes and Such! My name is Stephanie and what started out as gifts for family and friends has grown into more than I ever could have imagined.

One year, I decided to make tote bags as Christmas presents for my friends and family. Surprisingly, (I wasn't much of a seamstress), they turned out beautifully. My daughters and their friends have used their totes for just about everything. They’ve withstood the test of heavy books, laptops, groceries, and more.

Then came: “Mom can you make a small backpack?" Through trial and error (and a few special words) came up with what I thought was a decent backpack. My daughter thought it was fantastic and surprise! “Mom, I’ve signed you up for a booth at a convention! What’s your business name?”

That took some thought and family input. When my girls were little, I would call them “pushcakes”, after a line in their favorite childhood book. Violá, Pushcake Totes and Such was born!

My daughter must have had some faith in me because next came: “Surprise, Mom! I made you an Etsy store and Instagram. You need a logo and business cards!”

The Etsy store was a success, and my family was determined that they wouldn’t let me stop there. My daughters (darn them or love them) decided that the conventions and Etsy sales were doing so well that I needed a website.
